in sickness and in health . . .

This last week has drawn my heart closer to this man than ever before . . .

Ever since our trip to the hospital a week from last Sunday, our little baby boy has insisted on lying in a position that effects my body's ability to function properly. The Lord has been gracious to give moments of relief when he will move, thus allowing infection to not be an issue at this point.

Saturday evening, I found myself coming to the end of my tolerance. Six hours of intense pain had passed. Every effort to move the baby had been tried. My husband was kneeling down by me, gently rubbing my forehead. I willed myself to open my eyes and look up at him . . . "Luke . . . I just can't do it anymore." I knew my words were silly - there was nothing that could be done.

He smiled softly and began quoting. "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength." He continued to immerse my mind in the truth of Scripture. I have never experienced such joy or peace in the midst of pain, nor had I ever been more grateful for the man that God has blessed me with.

His plan, His way, His timing, His strength is perfect . . . always.

So glad that God blessed you with Luke! He has been wonderful through it all! It helps me to know how he cares for you and depends on the Lord. I love you both!
