my faithful God

"O unbelief, how strange a marvel you are! We know not which most to wonder at, the faithfulness of God or the unbelief of His people. He keeps his promise a thousand times, and yet the next rial makes us doubt him. He never fails: He is never a dry well; He is never as a setting sun, a passing meteor, or a melting vapor; and yet we are as continually vexed with anxieties, molested with suspicions, and disturbed with hears, as if our God were the mirage of the desert."

Charles Spurgeon, Morning and Evening

I know whom I have believed in
And I am persuaded that He is able
To keep that which I have committed
Unto Him against that day

LORD, when I have every reason to doubt, teach me to trust. When fear overwhelms me until I feel unable to breath, turn my eyes back to You. You are my unchanging God, the source of all my joy and strength.
