beautiful life . . .

Chris: “Sorry Al, I should really just turn my cell phone off when I sleep.”

Me: “Yeah you should. I feel awful when I wake you up and you are not even coherent.”

Chris: “Well the other day I helped this girl with all of her accounting homework while I was sleeping . . . I don’t remember any of it. Worst part of it is that I told her that I loved her at the end of the conversation.”

Me: “Wait! You what??”

*oops*

Me: “Yeah, so I was trying to work, right? And he had his country music blaring . . .”

*Mom starts singing some made-up country song way off key . . . she a pretty good beat going though*

*Laughter erupts*

Me: “Ah mom, who needs a TV with you around for free entertainment?"

I was helping the little man with his rhythm exercises . . . he wasn’t getting it. I started tapping them out on the top of head with a pencil. (One of my more mature moments as a piano instructor)

Jacob: “Ally, a proper teacher would just take her student to the woodshed”

*Laughter*

That turned into a spin of acting out rebellious student and strict 1800’s school teacher. So much for the piano lesson . . .

Dad is out of town this week. All of the sudden there are leaves to rake, cars to wash, grass to cut . . . more things to do. He is amazing. Plus, the family dynamics are way different when he is gone. Cannot wait to have him back home.

28 more days until our entire family is together for Christmas!
