A Faith Producing Voice

I find it strange that we as Christians consider hearing God’s voice to be an unusual and therefore, note worthy event. We seem to only think of it in the sense of deciphering major decision in life – where we will live, what college we will attend, what jobs we will select, whom we will marry . . .

Yet is His voice not so clear to us each day of our lives? When I am convicted moment – by – moment, I am truly hearing the voice of God. It is note worthy, not because it is unusual, but because the Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, has spoken through His Word and Holy Spirit.

Has it not always been true that major decisions in life seem to hold little weight, stress, or confusion, when I am hearing His voice in the here and now? And so I must determine to seek His face not only regarding decisions which are, by nature, apparently life changing, but also in each aspect of my daily life. Today I will hear His voice as He instructs me in how I use my time, what words I will speak, what food I will eat, what clothing I will wear, what friends I will make, what relationships I will invest in, and what portion of His Word I will study. Thus, He becomes LORD of all.

Herein is my faith increased, For, in seeking His face, I will hear His voice and know Him more fully. The more I learn of my great Savior, the more readily I trust Him with each aspect of my life.

Faith is not a leap in the dark but rather, a compelling knowledge of the faithful One.
