pictureless and quick . . .

I have been so bad about getting consistent updates on here!

I'm at my parents' place, watching the little man while my parents stay at the beach for a couple days by way of celebrating their anniversary . . .

So I have to confess that sometimes I get scared at the thought of having multiple children. (But I am more excited then scared . . . for sure!) Maybe it just takes getting used to. Or maybe you just resolve to be insane for a period of time in your life . . . not sure yet.

After one day I figured out that I can feed my baby, explain a math paper, and answer phone calls at the same time. I learned that it doesn't help anyone to freak out when you discover that you are down to your last clean diaper when your hair is wet, the dog is unfed, a wasp is flying around inside, and you need to leave for the dentist in five minutes.

Having a young one join Luke and I for Scripture reading last night was special. We seemed to discuss things more . . . and Jacob has quite a thorough knowledge and is always thinking things through! It's so exciting to see . . . and you feel so blessed to play a small part in his life.

One thing I concluded on is that Luke is the best father . . . I honestly could not ask for more. I love the balance that he has between holding a high standard and still being fun. I get an instant burst of energy when he comes home. He's not the type to come home stressed, unhappy and tired (although I know that those emotions are natural for him. He chooses rather to give energy to his family instead of drain it out of them!) Most of the time I catch myself feeling a little out of place almost. Like I know that I really got what I did not deserve when God blessed me with him.

Ok! Feeding time was at 3 o'clock and I need to get the little man back on school. : )

Pictures later!

Thank you SO MUCH, both of you, for staying with Jacob while we got away.
We had a nice relaxing time because we knew everything was in very good hands. Love you both!!!

Oh, by the way, you are a terrific mother and will be a terrific mother even when you have more children. God will give the grace for each one!:)
