Family, Chicken Coops, and My Man

Planning on paper

Luke and dad starting the project

Making the floor

I learned a little about how to frame a wall . . . mostly by watching Luke and holding boards for him : )
Three walls framed . . . one to go

Projects in the Strait family are never overly simplistic. The home that Luke and his brother helped to build for the Strait parents is beautiful - well thought through, practical, and nice looking. The tree fort that Luke came up with for my little bro . . . one post going into the ground, 8 foot ceilings, a window and a porch. We call it the "house on a stick."

The chicken coop has been the latest project. Luke's sister planned a family work party because she knew that her mom wanted chickens this spring. The "coop" that Luke designed is complete with three windows, a storage area, water, electricity, and a cement floor. It's not finished yet . . . but is further along than I have pictures to show for.
