HOPE

"Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but the desire cometh, a tree of life."
PROVERBS 13:12

When your soul is cast down
When your heart is quieted
When no praise remains on your lips

Be assured, you have begun to put your hope in man.

When you want out of the pain
When you look to pleasure for happiness
When you strive to keep an image

Be assured, your hope is in mortal beings.

When your soul thirsts for God
When you cannot but speak without consulting Him
When He is everything . . . the completion of your hope

Be assured, your desire is fulfilled in Him - the tree of life.

Now my soul rejoices for my confidence is in God
My soul rejoices for He is the eternal lover of my soul
My soul is full of thanksgiving for He has chosen me before the foundation of the world

My soul rejoices in Him - the extent of who I am

. . . the One for whom I live

“Why are thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted within me? Hope thou in God . . .”

PSALM 42:11

You certainly do have a way with words. Thanks for reminding me where my focus needs to be on a moment by moment basis. Keep writing!

Well I'm pretty far from the fairer description. Pretty much, I don't like pain, the pleasure of food brings me much "happiness" and my mouth would be but shut if I consulted God before opening it. Thanks for the challenge! Love you, Mom
