another year of life

My mom is one of the most precious people I have ever met . . . she has a lively, fun, joyful spirit about her. Everyone loves to be around her. People often mistake us for sisters - we have way too much fun together.

It is because of her love for those around her that I understand what it means to love people, even when that involves confronting them or being honest with them when it is hard.

It is because she gave up her own gain and stayed home to teach me that I understand what it means to make sacrifices for results that will not be visible for years.

It is because she loves my father, serves him, dies to herself daily and adores him whole heartedly that I have hope for marriage. I look at my parents and I want what they have. I want to be able to read someone's thoughts, adore them, serve them, work with them and love them in a way that never fades. I want my children to have that joy that comes from observing how much their parents love each other. Without my mom's commitment and love I would never dare to believe that such a dream would become reality.

Happy Birthday, to my amazing mother.
