A Vanishing World

If you opened your eyes and did not see anything of familiarity
If you world was torn apart
Your family was lost; friendships departed
You knew not a soul
Your minuscule pleasures took flight
Could your joy be complete?
Would your faith be in Me?

Do you love what I have given or do you love Me?
If your love was lost would I be your strength?
Have you given your all to Me?
Is eternity your hope?
Am I your destiny?

Do you dream of Me or of another?
Would you lay down your life, your dreams, your all?
Give Me your heart, again and again, My child
I want every part
Glorify Me alone

The question drives me to the cross
I look up and see the Son of God bruised for my prideful transgressions
Can I give Him my life when He gave me His all?

He is not first
He is all
He has my being
He is me
