First class.
Fancy deal.
My mother was the most amazing mother at this mother-daughter event. Yes, I am biased. :)
This church event was rather fun . . . it was a mother daughter Christmas event and the guys were in the kitchen doing dishes and helping the younger children serve everyone. That seemed backward!
The Dickson's home is amazing; not many people can serve a sit down dinner to 40 people. They use everything that God has blessed them with for other people. I got to know their family well last year when I worked for them two mornings each week. I saw their day-to-day life and learned a ton about life in a family of ten children . . . it was radically different than the life I was used to.
Mrs. Dickson is my hero, second mother, and friend. She is one of the few people that honestly stand out in my life; my respect for her just keeps increasing. She has made service to her family a literal "profession" and is incredibly successful. I cannot describe it accurately. One morning last year, I walked into their home and paused as I saw Mrs. Dickson kneeling in the living room with her children around her, praying. They were praying for the salvation of people they knew - crying out to God to use them and focusing on Him before beginning their day.
So anyway, this Christmas party was fun because I love this family but I am SO ready to hit the sack. Sleep is calling my name.
