Church Camp

  • Bible teaching
  • Children
  • Conversation
  • The three legged race
  • Fellowship
  • Food
  • Competitions
  • Sports
  • Baptism

. . . all of those things compose a fun Labor day weekend every year with our church. This year made me realize though, that it is relationships that cause an event to succeed or fail. Not the relationships between people, so much . . . but the relationship between each of those people and God.

If we are all seeking the Lord; crying out for Him to live through us for His glory

If we are all pleading with the Lord to save souls that may perish into eternal hell

If we are all thirsty for the purity of fellowship

If we are all hungry for the meet of the Word of God

We may experience the worst weather, startling accidents, lack of activity, and awkward friendship situations . . . but it wouldn’t matter.

I had several opportunities last weekend to steal away and climb onto my favorite rock at this camp that looks out over the river. When the sun shines through the trees in the morning and warms my face, when the wind rustles the pages of my Bible and makes it difficult to write in my journal – it is in the stillness of it all that I find incredibly fellowship with my LORD.
