Joyful Grief

Other’s griefs seem greater when my joy is fuller still

For my monstrous worry contains only my pride
What will they think? Can I succeed?
Oh! Where is my thirst for eternity?

I see a weeping world and it adds a weight to my heart
I hug the woman who is crying because her husband left her
I attempt to reach the teenage girl who has no concept of God, love, or leadership.
My heart bleeds for them. They enjoy not this life – nor the life to come.

My smile spreads wide for I have a united family
My smile spreads wide for I know, oh, I know and love my Almighty and merciful Lord.
How can my joy cease to abound?
Accept to consider those who are sinking . . .

And so my cry escapes, “God! Cause them to born again.”

My desire to remove all sin increases for I long for my voice to be heard and my prayer to be headed as never before.
