I Proudly Call her Mine

WHEN I THINK OF YOU
Toil and sweat
Tears and sorrow

Labor and sacrifice

It seems to say “mother”

She has no sighs but that God is not loved
No sorrow but that her family is hurting
No complaints but that God is not glorified
She is my mother

When the day ends her prayer is for others
When the day begins her toil is for children
When the hour is late her conversation is given to family
She is a mother who loves

When her time is done
Our Lord will call her home
She will be surrounded by children
Who carry on a legacy of honoring her Lord

They can say with all honesty, “I loved my mother.”
